Are you curious about the secular practice of mindfulness and how it can improve wellbeing and health?

A drop in class is a great time to get your feet wet!  You can sit in a chair as well.

We will practice 3 to 4 mindfulness meditation practices including some of sitting meditation, lying down meditation, walking meditation and sometimes loving-kindness meditations.  Most of the meditations are guided to help newcomers get started.

There is no fee for the class, however, a donation is appreciated ($2 to $15).

Come out and start to explore the benefits of mindfulness.  There is no over 2 decades of published research that suggests mindfulness can significantly prove wellbeing and health.

I am looking forward to meeting you!

Some recent testimonials

"Doug's programs have been absolutely life-changing for me.  I'm able to approach life's challenges with a calmer, clearer mind, and have been infused with increased confidence and creativity.  I guess the word I would use to describe how I feel is "vitality".  I feel less overwhelmed by stressful situations as I had been in the past with daily practice.  I am less reactive, and have even noticed an improvement in digestive issues I had been plagued with in the past.  Doug's courses, MBSR and Mindful Self Compassion, have both been gifts that I will be forever grateful for.  Doug is an excellent facilitator, sharing his personal experiences and creating a safe environment."  - Denise L

If you're stuck, in a slump, looking for a change, or simply want to take time to do something for yourself take this course!  I promise that if you dedicate yourself to attending the classes and doing the work on your own at home it will change your life. Not in the dramatic, fireworks kind of way you see in the movies, but in a much more subtle, realistic way that's no less dramatic.  Doug is the real deal when it comes to experiences teachers who walk the walk. Thanks for a fantastic experience.

I highly recommend the Mindful Self-Compassion program.  I have wanted to take it for years and it definitely lived up to my expectations.  I enjoyed the teaching, discussion and mindful exercises/meditations.  It was very well organised which made it easier to practice the skills in everyday life.  Through integrating the practices I find myself calmer and more patient and kind to myself and others.  Thanks Doug for bringing this valuable program to Calgary.  Laura McKenna

Doug's Mindful Self-Compassion course, by some happenstance, came along in my life after I experienced a major loss and was needing skills to cope. Having previously taken Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, I knew Doug would make me feel safe in the group with my grief. I also felt confident I'd learn new Mindfulness skills to cope. Half-way through the course I've come to approach myself in a gentler way. The resources I have learned and am practicing are helping me to get through the days. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to tame their inner critic and live a more compassionate life towards themselves.  Tasha H
